Dry roast 1 cup of coriander seeds and pepper on low flame for 2-3 mins separately and keep aside . In the same pan roast toor dal until light golden brown .Add dry chillies , jeera , curry leaves fenugreek and mustard seeds for just few mins , let it cool and blend in a mixer along with turmeric and hing . This can be used for 1 month .
Now for rasam : heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds , jeera , chopped tomatoes, once tomato becomes mushy add tamarind water . Cook for 8-10 mins add curry leaves along with rasam powder and bit of hing . Just allow to boil for few mins .
