Ingredients:
- 1 cup of chole (soaked overnight)
- 2 tbsp oil
- whole spice (2 bay leaf, 1Black Cardamom, 1 inch Cinnamon stick, 6 Cloves)
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp chole masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp kasuri methi
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
1. Heat oil in the pressure cooker and add whole spice (mentioned above) and cumin seeds. Once they splutter. Then Add soaked and drained chole to the cooker.
Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and chole masala.
Mix well to coat the chickpeas with the spices.
Then, add chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, chopped green chilli and cook until they are soft.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
Pour hot water to cover the chickpeas, close the pressure cooker lid, and cook for about 4-5 whistles or until the chole is tender.
Once chole are cooked, release the pressure, open the lid, and add kasuri methi and stir well
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
Serve your delicious one-pot chole with Puri.
